About Jimi

Hendrix is one of the most influential guitarists in the history of music.  He pioneered the use of overdrive and wah-wah pedals with his electric guitars.  

​Three of his albums were judged by Rolling Stone magazine as worthy of a place among the top 100 albums of all time and they
  ranked him as the greatest guitarist of all time and the sixth greatest artist of all time.

Cause of death

Jimi Hendrix died at the age of 27 reportedly by asphyxiation on vomit after accidental overdose of sleeping pills.

How did Jimi Hendrix die?

There is some mystery surrounding Jimi Hendrix cause of death. There were suspicious circumstances around his death.
Jimi Hendrix died on the morning of 18 September 1970 from an overdose of barbiturates in the room of a girlfriend at the Hotel Samarkand in Lansdowne Crescent, Notting Hill.

The cause was officially listed as 'asphyxiation on vomit after accidental overdose of sleeping pills.'

He was friends with both Janis Joplin and Jim Morrison.
