Rhythm guitarist and co-lyricist of the Manic Street Preachers, Richey James Edwards (aka Richey James), hasn't been seen since 1 February 1995 when, at the age of 27 he disappeared. Due to his mental state at the time and the location of his abandoned car, it was widely believed that Richey took his own life by jumping from the Severn Bridge. There have been alleged sightings of Richey in Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and Goa but none of these have been confirmed by investigators. In 2002, his family had the option of declaring him legally dead, but chose, understandably for his status to remain as a 'missing person.' Richey wrote 70% of the lyrics of the Manics 3rd album Holy Bible, and showed a love of literature; his lyrics were highly poetic. Since his disappearance, the band have paid 25% of his royalties into his bank account, which awaits his return. Do you think Richey should be an honorary member of Forever 27? Vote in our poll
